Document scanning is critical to strong HR onboarding

The ability of any company to get employees onboarded as quickly and easily as possible is vital to a business as it grows or looks to replace a departing worker. With that in mind, document scanning and ongoing document management efforts in the human resources department are vital tools to ongoing success.

Incorporating not just document management platforms into HR operations, but also workflow software that will ferry information where it needs to go on demand, is a crucial tool to improving efficiency in the onboarding process, according to B Daily.

What to consider
In the past, HR has been something of a tedious task, as workers would have to manually enter and verify new employee information as it was being put into a system, and then update that data whenever necessary. They would also have to keep in mind data security protocols when doing so as a means of keeping all of an employee's sensitive information protected, as well as shielding the company from potential liability.

But with remote capture technology and modern document management software with proper workflows in place, HR professionals can save a lot of time and increase data accuracy in short order.

Getting it right
When companies are able to make onboarding go as smoothly as possible, they typically position themselves well, not just in the HR department, but  with the new employee specifically, according to HR Technologist. As much as 20 percent of new hire turnover happens within the first six weeks or so of an employee coming aboard, but nearly 70 percent of employees say they are likely to stick with their companies for at least three years if onboarding goes particularly well.

With this in mind, the more HR departments can do to ensure a simple and efficient onboarding process – such as with modern document scanning and management technology – the better off the entire company could be going forward.
